The Sambahang Kristiano sa Iriga is an independent church, non-stock, non-profit religious institution registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in the year 2013. Church leaders and members work hand and hand towards its mission and vision with its own fund faithfully complying God’s word with a big heart.
A glimpse in the past, reckoned that love and faith in God inspired the Sambahang Kristiano sa Marulas to send its workers in Iriga City in 1977 and founded the Sambahang Kristiano sa Iriga. Initially, barangay crusades were held, seed of love grew and flourished eventually, house services followed in San Roque, Iriga City. One after the other missionaries and workers were sent by the mother church who facilitated the church activities, their absence however, did not hinder the works of God.
Subsequently, SKI rented lot in San Miguel, Iriga City, constructed temporary building made of nipa and bamboo where the church activities were held. In 1986 to 1988 missionaries and workers assigned left, the SKI continued with energetic youth God’s servants.
It was in April 23, 1987 when the SKM permanently assigned a pastor. In 1992, a lot in San Nicolas, Iriga City was acquired through ABCCOP loan with equity shares from its generous members. The ground breaking followed, building construction started phase by phase through donations and pledges of the members which was completed in the year 2005.
As the church ministries continued, more members were baptized, founded daughter church in Nabua with its full-time missionary in 2011, other church workers were assigned to other daughter churches of SKM and the church was blessed with its service car intended for mission. In 2015, the SKI School of Theology has commenced with the increasing number of enrollees being held at the multi-purpose building, erected at the back of the church and completes in 2014.
With the retirement of the resident pastor, the SKI runs with the church council spearheaded by the administrative pastor. The leadership sets its goal based on five-year proposed plan and continues thereafter as it reaches its target.
